Czech anti-drug cycling campaign completed its 22nd nationwide tour

The 22nd edition of Cyklo-běh za Českou republiku bez drog (“Cycle-Run for a Drug-Free Czech Republic”) took place from 8 to 19 June 2026, travelling around 1,200 kilometres across the country. Organised by Řekni NE drogám – řekni ANO životu, the twelve-day initiative connected around 40 towns and cities in Bohemia and Moravia, combining the cycling tour with educational activities and the distribution of free drug-prevention materials.

The 2026 campaign focused particularly on substances and products that organisers see as emerging risks for young people, including HHC, kratom and nicotine pouches. Along the route, lecturers delivered demonstration prevention sessions and provided schools and local communities with educational resources intended to help young people make informed decisions before encountering pressure to experiment with psychoactive substances. The organisers also said they were placing greater emphasis this year on digital transparency and newer forms of prevention communication.

The campaign began in Zlín on 8 June and concluded in Prague on 19 June, ahead of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking later that month. According to the organisers, the annual Cyklo-běh has now been running for more than two decades and remains one of the country’s largest recurring drug-awareness initiatives, using sport, regional outreach and school-based prevention to bring its message directly to local communities.
