“Did you know that drugs effect the brain and body differently? Drugs like alcohol, some painkillers and prescription medication such as Diazepam and Xanax will slow you down, cause slurred speech, cause you to be unsteady on your feet and in extreme cases slow your heart rate down so much that it becomes difficult to breathe.
It is important to know if you or your mates have taken any drugs or alcohol and feel unwell, scared, or in pain to call 999 and ask for an ambulance. Remember to stay with your friend until the ambulance arrives.
We know that young people experiment with various different types of drugs and alcohol and it is important that you seek advice if you have any questions or are concerned about things.”
