“A new Super Babies campaign has been launched in Blackpool to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking alcohol during pregnancy. The campaign, which features four super-babies, highlights the benefits that an un-born baby gets when it isn’t exposed to alcohol.
These benefits include both physical and mental development including sight, brain development, growth and motor skills.
Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can lead to learning difficulties, heart problems and permanent damage to a developing baby’s brain. There is no safe amount. But it is not just the responsibility of the mum-to-be, it is also the responsibility of the dad, grandparents, friends and the wider community to support the mum and protect the unborn baby.”
