Luxembourg summer campaign promotes alcohol-free socialising

Luxembourg’s Ministry of Health and Social Security has launched a new summer prevention campaign encouraging people to enjoy social occasions without alcohol. The campaign presents sobriety as a positive and conscious choice, reflecting changing drinking habits and growing interest in alcohol-free alternatives that combine enjoyment, wellbeing and health.

A central part of the initiative is a collection of creative, low-sugar mocktail recipes developed with Luxembourgish mixologist Raphael Betti, founder of the BAC cocktail bar in Luxembourg City. A recipe booklet and tutorial videos show how the drinks can be prepared, while the wider digital campaign focuses on four familiar summer settings: festivals, barbecues, funfairs, and bars and nightclubs.

Alongside promoting appealing alcohol-free options, the campaign reminds people that there is no risk-free level of alcohol consumption. By showing that socialising and celebration do not have to revolve around alcohol, the Ministry also highlights some of the potential benefits of drinking less, including better sleep, increased energy and improved everyday wellbeing.
