“The ALK course enables pupils to engage in an interactive discussion on the subject of alcohol consumption and abuse in adolescence. At the individual stations they playfully learn interesting facts about alcohol and its effects. They can actively participate and learn about the dangers of early and excessive alcohol consumption.
The state campaign funds around 35 missions a year to schools, youth centers and other institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia.
- Providing impulses to increasingly deal with the issue of alcohol abuse and prevention at school and also between school and parents and to become or remain active in the process.
- Provide differentiated information on gender differences in alcohol consumption and abuse in terms of motives, effects and health and social hazards (eg sexual harassment).
- Strengthening to refrain from alcohol consumption or delay the beginning of alcohol use.
- Promote the responsible use of alcohol and promote the willingness to change in the event of excessive alcohol consumption.”
