“This campaign is another initiative in which MOR plans to foster a culture of road safety of young adults, contributing to a change of behavior in the new Generations: Young people are not only the best educators for their parents, they are the future drivers.
During this period there will be posters from ANSR on Metro do Porto vehicles and an ANSR spot will be featured on MetroTV, covering the entire metropolitan area of Porto.
Metro do Porto is one of the largest light rail networks in Europe, with a capacity of 9,000 people per hour on each line, and where 60% of clients are under 35 years old and 30% are students.
According to the World Health Organization, road accidents are the leading cause of death for young people aged 15 to 29 worldwide.
In Portugal, over the last 10 years, an average of 66 young people aged 15 to 24 have died each year as a result of road accidents, and over 350 have been seriously injured each year. Young people also have the highest number of alcohol violations: 15% above average.”
