Thousands of people in the Netherlands participate in the campaign ‘IKPAS!’ They do not drink alcohol for 40 days from 6 March.
“Many people drink alcohol, also in our region of North and East Gelderland. Our most recent survey of nearly 1,000 panel members shows that 59% of them drink alcohol at least once a week. Over a third drink even (almost) daily. Panels drink most often at a party or in a restaurant. They mainly drink because it is nice, it gives a nice feeling and it is cozy.
Furthermore, most panel members think that customers should not be offered alcohol at the hairdresser and alcohol should not be sold at sports canteens. Most of the panel members also think that parents should discourage their child under the age of 18 to drink alcohol.
More than 1 in 10 panel members indicate that they want to reduce their alcohol consumption or even want to stop drinking altogether. The campaign ‘IKPAS!’ can help. In 2018 no less than 30,000 people participated in this campaign. The 40-day variant starts on 6 March. You can register for the promotion via www.ikpas.nl or via the IkPas app.”
