“This is a behind the scenes look at the production of the original “You’ve Been Through” soundtrack featured in the “Talk. They Hear You.” Campaign public service announcement (PSA), Reminiscing. “You’ve Been Through” was inspired by the real-life conversations musician Liberty DeVitto had with his daughter, actress Torrey DeVitto, about alcohol and other drugs when she was growing up. The soundtrack reinforces Campaign brand recognition and is primarily used as a promotional tool in communities and digital markets.
SAMHSA released “You’ve Been Through” in July 2018 on SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and Jango.com. It features vocals by Emmy Award winning song writer and producer Eren Cannata and Broadway actress Carrie St. Louis. Cannata and St. Louis are accompanied on the track by fellow musicians Liberty DeVitto (Drums), Torrey DeVitto (Violin), Richie Cannata (Producer/Saxophone), Julio Fernandez (Guitars), and George Panos (Bass). In the video, these musicians also discuss the importance of talking with kids about the effects of underage drinking and drug use and how music can be used to advance prevention messages.”
