Austrian Dialogue Week on Alcohol

“The initiative “Austrian Dialogue Week on Alcohol” – similar to the “Action or Dialogue Weeks of alcohol” carried out in Germany for many years – aims to inform about alcohol and to encourage discussions about thinking about one’s own alcohol consumption: How much alcohol do I drink? Where is the limit?”

“From May 20 to May 26, 2019, events will take place throughout Austria. In doing so, we want to address alcohol and the dangers of it without taboos and bring it to a level of conversation.

The ministers of health of Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland also welcomed the fact that in 2017, for the first time in all five countries, people were made aware of the risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption during an action or dialogue week. Here you can read the official statement of the German-speaking health ministers 2017.

The Austrian Dialog Week Alcohol is an initiative of the Austrian ARGE addiction prevention and was implemented for the first time in 2017 in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health and Women, the Federation of Austrian Social Security Institutions and Health Austria GmbH / Business Unit Funds Healthy Austria.”
