Understanding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) can help families, educators and professionals provide better support. CanFASD has shared four infographics created by trainees in its research program, bringing together information on learning, assessment, caregiving and social attitudes toward substance use.
One infographic explores how alcohol and cannabis use are portrayed in online motherhood communities. Another looks at FASD in the classroom, including how memory, processing speed and executive functioning can affect learning, and how educators can adapt their support to individual needs.
For families considering an assessment, a guide for caregivers introduces the process, from referrals to recommendations. A fourth infographic shares strategies and resources for caregivers, highlighting self-care, professional support and connections with other caregivers.
The resources also show the contribution of emerging researchers to the FASD field. Through the CanFASD Trainee Program, students and early-career professionals are helping make research easier to understand and use in everyday life.
