October 3 is World Day for Alcohol-Free Living, and this year Movendi International is marking the day with the theme “Enjoy More.” The 2026 campaign invites people around the world to share what they gain when alcohol is no longer at the centre of social life, celebrations or everyday experiences. Its wider message, “Tell More. Enjoy More. Live More.”, puts the focus deliberately on the positive possibilities of alcohol-free living rather than only on alcohol-related harm.
Movendi describes alcohol-free living broadly. It can mean choosing not to drink for a party, a weekend, a month, a year or for life. The campaign highlights the possibility of more authentic social connections, family time, celebrations, nightlife, sports, holidays and other experiences where people and activities take centre stage instead of alcohol.
A central part of this year’s initiative is the Tell More campaign. People are invited to share their own experiences of living alcohol-free and answer a simple question: what does going alcohol-free allow you to enjoy more? By collecting personal experiences from different countries and communities, Movendi aims to show that there is no single type of person who chooses an alcohol-free life and no single reason for doing so.
Movendi has also produced more than 100 social media assets based on contributions and experiences from members and partners around the world. The graphics can be freely shared, translated and adapted, and organisations can also create their own versions. The online toolkit provides the campaign material together with the hashtags #EnjoyMore and #WD4AFL, making the initiative easy for local organisations and individuals to take part in.
Behind the campaign is a broader effort to challenge the assumption that alcohol has to be part of socialising, celebrating or having fun. World Day for Alcohol-Free Living offers a different perspective: alcohol-free environments can be inclusive, enjoyable and socially attractive in their own right. Instead of presenting life without alcohol as giving something up, the 2026 campaign asks what people may actually gain.
