Canada’s Red Ribbon Campaign

The Waterloo Regional Police Service, is honoured to host MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Canada’s Red Ribbon National Launch Campaign at Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Headquarters on November 1, 2019.

Community partners will join members from MADD to help raise awareness about the risks and consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or cannabis or other drugs.

The Red Ribbon campaign begins on November 1, 2019 and runs until the beginning of January.

Throughout the Red Ribbon Campaign, thousands of red ribbons will be distributed across Waterloo Region as a tribute to the victims of impairment-related collisions and as a reminder to ensure everyone drives sober.

“We are pleased to take part in this important campaign,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “This campaign serves as a tribute to all the victims who have been killed or injured in impaired driving collisions. As well as taking part in the Red Ribbon Campaign, our officers will hold several R.I.D.E. programs and random mobile checks throughout the holiday season to ensure our roads are safe from impaired drivers.”
