Commercial determinants of health

“SPECTRUM has launched a new animation, introducing the consortium and our research into the commercial determinants of health.

The consumption of tobacco, alcohol and foods high in fat, salt and/or sugar are causes of non-communicable diseases and drivers of health inequalities around the world. Our consumption of these harmful products is heavily influenced by the powerful companies that make them.

At SPECTRUM, our research is helping to identify and evaluate potential policies to prevent and reduce harm from unhealthy products.”

Find more from SPECTRUM CONSORTIUM (UK, February 2023). SPECTRUM is a multi-university, multi-agency research consortium focused on the commercial determinants of health and health inequalities funded by the UK Prevention Research Partnership.
