“Many people with epilepsy experience that alcohol can trigger seizures. Alcohol is also a factor that often coincides with other possible seizure triggers, such as sleep deprivation and medical oversight. As with all potential seizure triggers, however, there are large individual differences on how well people with epilepsy can tolerate alcohol. Some never experience seizures in connection with drinking, while others can count on the attack after only small amounts.
Since both alcohol and different epileptic drugs are broken down in the liver, the drugs may interfere with each other.”
