What Would You Say

Ashburton Community Alcohol and Drug Services (ACAD) has launched a community campaign built around one blunt, life-saving question: “What would you say to someone about to get behind the wheel drunk?” They are asking 133 “MidCantabs” to answer it, with the aim of getting everyone else to think through that exact moment, what you would actually say, and how a few words could change a life.

The idea is simple and relatable: let people see themselves, their friends, their family, in the faces and voices of a tight-knit community. ACAD says they have been grateful to everyone who has already stepped in to be part of it, and they are still welcoming more locals to join. The message they want to land is clear: plan safe, home safe, think before you drink.
