From 19 to 25 January 2026, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) will hold the 31st National Information Week “Compartiendo Esfuerzos” in Mexico, a public event focused on sharing information, prevention, and a message of recovery and hope related to alcoholism. The week will open on Monday 19 January at 10:45 a.m. at the Club de Banqueros de México (Mexico City, CDMX), with the overall aim of informing to prevent harm and strengthening cooperation with the health sector.
The initiative exists to raise awareness about alcoholism and bring people closer to support and recovery options through coordinated work between AA and other institutions. A key focus this year is cooperation with the health sector (and other partners), to strengthen local support networks and help information reach more people in more settings. Event materials mention participation and collaboration involving more than 30 institutions and spaces.
Across the week, activities will take place in different parts of the country, including information stands in high-traffic places such as hospitals, clinics, transport stations, and other community spaces, alongside distribution of printed and audiovisual materials and wider outreach through media and social platforms. The event is meant for anyone who wants to learn more, whether they are concerned about their own drinking, supporting a family member or friend, or working professionally in health, education, justice, or workplace settings. AA shares information and lived experience of recovery and does not replace medical care or promise cures, the purpose is to inform, prevent, and guide people toward available help.
