IQ launched this week Fatta Fyllan (“Get the Booze”), a new website designed to give young people answers to their questions about alcohol. The site is part of IQ’s efforts to raise the age of first drinking and to reduce alcohol consumption among youth.
At FattaFyllan.se, young people can anonymously ask questions, read answers, and discuss facts about how alcohol affects the body, brain, and relationships.
“We know that many young people have questions about alcohol but may not always feel comfortable asking them openly. At the same time, there’s a lot of misleading and unverified information online and on social media. We created Fatta Fyllan to give young people knowledge, confidence, and answers—without preaching,” says Mojtaba Ghodsi, CEO of IQ.
Among the experts responding to young people’s questions are Sara Wallhed Finn, alcohol researcher and psychologist, and Nadim Ghazale, a former police officer with 17 years of experience and now head of operations at Nattvandring.nu.
“Alcohol is often surrounded by myths and misunderstandings. By meeting young people where they are and answering their questions in an open and factual way, we can help increase understanding and support smarter choices,” says Sara Wallhed Finn.
Fatta Fyllan was developed by IQ, an organization that aims to empower young people to feel more confident in making their own choices about alcohol. With this initiative, IQ wants to create a digital meeting place where young people can access reliable information and talk about alcohol without pressure or prejudice. All content is reviewed before publication to ensure a safe environment for reflection and dialogue.
Examples of questions:
Why is it even dangerous to drink when you’re young?
Can the police arrest me if I’m drunk?
What happens if you have sex while drunk?
