This September, Recovery Month 2025 is marked by a new initiative from Taking Action on Addiction (TAOA), led by The Forward Trust. The “Road to Recovery” campaign invites people to celebrate their recovery by adding a virtual brick to a pathway that symbolizes hope, strength, and solidarity. Each brick represents recovery days and carries a message of encouragement to those still navigating their journey.
The campaign highlights the many forms recovery can take, whether from alcohol, drugs, gambling, mental health challenges, or other struggles. By including every story and milestone, the Road to Recovery demonstrates that recovery is not only possible but also deeply personal. A recovery totaliser shows the collective strength of all participants, making visible the power of the recovery community.
Getting involved is simple. Participants can visit the campaign page, choose a brick, share their recovery milestone, and, if they wish, leave a message of support or make a donation to help fund vital services. Together, these actions create a visible message of hope and connection. This Recovery Month, TAOA reminds us that no one has to walk the road alone – recovery is built one brick, one step, one day at a time.
