On June 26, for the international Support. Don’t Punish day, Fédération Addiction launched a bold new campaign in collaboration with Orès France: Qui est le drogué ? (Who is the drug user?). It challenges the deeply rooted stereotypes about drug use and calls for a more honest, nuanced public conversation. At the heart of the campaign is a simple but powerful message: drug use doesn’t have a single face. It cuts across age, class, and background.
To confront these assumptions, the campaign cleverly reimagines a popular guessing game, turning it into a tool for awareness. In Qui est le drogué ?, players try to guess who the drug user is, only to discover that all the characters are. Each card in the game comes with a personal story in the Livret des Histoires, a collection of narratives based on real-life experiences. The effect is disarming: it’s not about winning the game, but about realising how complex and diverse the reality of drug use is.
The campaign comes at a time when the gap between public perception and reality remains stark. In France, over 21 million people have tried an illegal drug, and almost everyone has used alcohol, a legal drug. Yet drug use is still seen as something that affects others, not “us”. Catherine Delorme, president of Fédération Addiction, put it plainly: “This campaign reminds us of the humanity and voice of people who use drugs. Because we talk so little about it, change comes too slowly.”
Qui est le drogué ? is being shared with media and influencers like @pastelmedia_ and @drgood_officiel, helping these voices reach new audiences. It’s a reminder that drugs are part of daily life for many, and that we need to look at the issue with less fear and more understanding. The campaign doesn’t ask for pity or judgment – it calls for truth, dignity, and public health grounded in reality.
