The campaign 70 étudiants et l’alcool, launched by the Espace Santé Étudiants (ESE) of the University of Bordeaux in collaboration with the Étudiants Relais Santé (ERS) Soirées, aims to shed light on students’ relationship with alcohol. Through candid interviews conducted across four campuses, 70 students shared their experiences, highlighting the social pressures and personal consequences associated with alcohol consumption in university settings. These testimonials, compiled into a video released on April 9, 2025, serve as a catalyst for reflection and discussion among the student community.
The ESE, a multidisciplinary health center at the heart of the Bordeaux campus, offers a range of services including medical consultations, mental health support, and preventive workshops. The ERS Soirées, a team of trained student peers, play a pivotal role in this initiative by facilitating peer-to-peer education and organizing risk-reduction activities during student events. Their involvement ensures that the campaign resonates authentically with the student body, fostering an environment where open dialogue about alcohol consumption is encouraged.
Beyond the video, the campaign encompasses interactive sessions and discussions scheduled for the autumn semester, aiming to engage students in conversations about their drinking habits and the broader culture surrounding alcohol. By providing resources and support, the ESE and ERS Soirées strive to empower students to make informed choices, promoting a healthier and more conscious approach to alcohol consumption within the university community.
