Drugs are unpredictable

Fife’s Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) has launched the Think Again! campaign, urging young people to reconsider casual or occasional drug use. Developed with input from young people in Fife, the campaign highlights the unpredictable nature of drugs, emphasizing that even substances previously taken can have unexpected effects. The lack of regulation in the illegal drug market means users can never be certain what they are consuming, and mixing drugs with alcohol increases the risks further. The message is clear: don’t take a chance—Think Again!

Beyond raising awareness, the campaign equips young people, parents, and carers with essential knowledge to respond to drug-related emergencies. If someone becomes unwell after taking drugs or alcohol, the key steps are to call 999 immediately, be honest about what was taken, and stay with the person until help arrives. Encouraging open conversations about drug use is another crucial aspect, helping young people feel informed and supported rather than isolated.

Think Again! is more than just a warning—it’s a call to action. By challenging perceptions around casual drug use, the campaign urges everyone, from young people to those working with them, to engage in meaningful discussions and recognize the risks involved. Trusted sources like We Are With You provide valuable information, ensuring that those affected know where to turn for support. Whether it’s understanding the dangers, noticing signs of longer-term use, or simply starting a conversation, the message is simple: when it comes to drugs, always Think Again!
