Alcohol and Safer Sex Video Series

The fasdNL Network has launched a three-part video series, Alcohol and Safer Sex, designed for students in grades 7-12. This educational initiative covers the critical topics of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), the effects of alcohol on pregnancy, and safer sex practices. The videos engage young people by providing essential knowledge on alcohol’s impact on brain function and decision-making and how it influences behaviour during sexual activity. Each video includes discussion questions and activities that encourage students to reflect on the effects of alcohol and develop strategies for safe drinking and informed consent.

This video series is part of fasdNL’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about FASD and reduce alcohol-related harm in communities. By teaching young people about the dangers of alcohol consumption during pregnancy and emphasizing the importance of informed consent in sexual situations, fasdNL aims to empower students with the knowledge they need to make responsible choices. For more information on FASD and to access additional resources, including their online course, visit the fasdNL website.
