Don’t be dumb!

On April 12, 2019, the road safety campaign “Sei nicht dumm!” was launched during an action day at the Alfons-Kern vocational school in Pforzheim, Germany. Jürgen Rieger, representing the Ministry of the Interior, Digitalization, and Migration of Baden-Württemberg, unveiled the campaign to students by showcasing all the video spots ahead of their wider release. The event also marked the first public presentation of the campaign’s accompanying media, including posters and stickers featuring “small accident monsters,” designed to promote awareness and engagement in traffic accident prevention.

The “Gib Acht im Verkehr” road safety initiative serves as a forum and platform for comprehensive traffic accident prevention in Baden-Württemberg. It relies on a broad consensus and the involvement of numerous associations to ensure widespread societal support. Police activities in traffic accident prevention are fundamentally aligned with this statewide initiative, utilizing targeted resource deployment to achieve significant community engagement. This enduring campaign has continued to reinforce road safety awareness and practices in the region, underscoring its importance in reducing traffic accidents.
